Jess Ainscough – Wellness Warrior and Ray of Light

Jess Ainscough – Wellness Warrior and Ray of LightJess never knew me. But I knew her. At least, I felt like I knew her – as did thousands of others from all corners of the globe who had read her blog and followed her journey over the last seven years. And along with them, it was with great shock and deep sadness that I learned she had left our world on February 26th.

Jess had been living with a rare form of cancer, epithelioid sarcoma, which spread to her left arm. Read the rest of this post »

Pondering the Power of Plants and Modern Medicine

http://www.dreamstime.com/-image29465427I was at a workshop over the weekend called Medicine Cabinet Makeover and it was all about using essential oils to keep you and your family healthy. We ended up having some great discussions (as we usually do at these kinds of events!), and there was one comment made that really struck a chord with me. The comment was this:

“Isn’t it funny how we’ll take a pill from a doctor, without knowing anything about it, and not question it at all.

Add Some Vitamin ‘L’ into Your Cooking

So yesterday was Valentine’s Day. I’ll be totally honest with you, usually I’m not a big Valentine’s person – I kind of think it’s a giant marketing ploy to sell loads of red roses at ridiculously marked up prices (but if that’s your thing, go for it! Each to their own I say!). However yesterday I decided I’d totally shock the hubby by doing something nice for him.

(Side note: Not that I don’t do nice things for him, on the contrary. Read the rest of this post »

Juicing and Smoothies – What’s the Difference and Which is Better?

Juicing and Smoothies – What’s the Difference and Which is BetterLately I feel like I’m a juiceaholic. I’m literally craving them! Is that normal?? I wake up and almost straight away I’m thinking, what veggies do I have in the fridge? There’s some kale, oh I need a cucumber, I think there’s some carrots left over, did I have any lemons left? I can’t start my weekend without juice!!

The hubby, on the other hand, is a smoothie addict. He’s all about the almond milk, banana, cacao powder, maca powder, and whatever else he can find to throw in there (I would love him to be on the juice wagon with me, but hey, each to their own right?). Read the rest of this post »

My Goals, Dreams and Desires for 2015

New Year 2015It might be almost two weeks’ late but… Happy New Year!! I personally love the new year. I love the ritual of shutting the door on the year before, and opening the door on the new possibilities of the year ahead. It’s not like anything actually happens, the sun rises just like every other day, but yet it brings so much hope and optimism and inspiration to people the world over.

It makes you feel like you have a clean slate, you can make a fresh start, and anything that happened before is wiped away. Read the rest of this post »

How Did Your Year Stack Up? 2014 in Review!

How Did Your Year Stack Up 2014 in Review! Can you even believe 2014 is nearly over?? I certainly can’t! Apart from being one of the quickest years in history, this year has also been the most rewarding. For me anyway.

So let’s take a look back at our year, shall we?

When I think about reviewing my year, I’m not thinking about what went on in the world. I’m thinking about what went on in my heart, in my mind, and in my soul. How did I grow, learn evolve, exist? Read the rest of this post »

Why I’m Saying No to New Year’s Resolutions

Why I’m Saying No to New Year’s ResolutionsI can’t believe it’s almost the end of 2014! Don’t you think this year has gone by super quick? Much faster than normal… Kind of like global warming, but that’s another story.

So you might have also noticed (along with the rising temperatures) that around this time of year people start to think about the things they did, and the things they didn’t do over the last 12 months. Things they want to do, or things they tried to do but failed at first time around (or maybe second or third time around, as the case may be). Read the rest of this post »

Becoming a Yoga Teacher and a Believer in Humanity

Becoming a Yoga Teacher and a Believer in HumanityI was actually a bit hesitant about writing this blog because in all honesty, it’s difficult to find the right words to describe just how magical my time in Bali was! It’s not very often that you find yourself surrounded by like-minded people, accepting, non-judging, supportive and full of love and gratitude. I don’t think I’ve ever experienced anything like it before, and if I ever experience again then I will call myself a very blessed individual!

Of course, day one I was pretty nervous. Read the rest of this post »

About Following Your Heart

About Following Your HeartHello from Bali! Or more specifically, Ubud – mecca for yogis and nature lovers alike. And for me, being both of those, it’s pretty much paradise. If you don’t follow me on Facebook then you might be wondering why I’m here, so let me give you a bit of a breakdown of what’s happening at the moment.

I’ve basically taken a three-week hiatus from my normal life to immerse myself in all things yoga. To live, breathe, eat and sleep my yoga teacher training. Read the rest of this post »

Getting Really, Really Clear On Your Goals

Getting Really, Really Clear On Your GoalsIt’s time to get really clear on your goals. When it comes to our health, sometimes we think we know what our goal is, but we’re actually looking at it from completely the wrong angle. So then what happens? We don’t reach our goals! Because we don’t really know what they are!

It’s all about understanding your true motives, and your underlying desire, for wanting the thing that you want.

I was thinking about this today when a good friend asked me why I was heading off to do my yoga teacher training. Read the rest of this post »
