It’s Mother’s Day and I’ve Got Breast Cancer On My Mind

Happy Mother’s Breast Cancer RibbonDay to all the Mums out there! What an amazing job you do! And I’m not just talking about the cooking, cleaning, organising, driving around, answering homework questions and dealing with tantrums. I’m talking about the way you put yourself second to make sure these little lives have the best upbringing they can possibly have, no matter what your personal circumstances are. It can be draining, tiring, exhausting, and you often don’t get thanks for any of it. Read the rest of this post »

I’ve Given Something Up for My 34th Birthday

happiness2014 I used to be one of those types that liked to blame other people. How I was feeling, what I was doing, it was all based on what someone else had done. I had a boyfriend in my 20s that didn’t treat me particularly well and it had a major effect on the next year or two of my life after we broke up. My mindset was basically, “I got cheated on! I got disrespected! I gave away part of myself and he threw it down the toilet!” So that gave me ample ammunition to go into the world and treat myself, and others, exactly the same way.
