How to Get Unstuck and See Clearly Again

Okay, it’s confession time. How to Get Unstuck and See Clearly Again

In the last two months I’ve managed to get myself completely off track. I’ve been unsettled, I’ve let certain things slip from my daily life, and I’ve felt up in the air. I haven’t been meditating. I haven’t been doing much yoga. I haven’t been blogging. And I’m feeling… stuck.

In my own defense, there’s been a lot going on. That move I talked about in my last blog? Well, it happened! The hubby and I uprooted our lives and drove 1,800kms south to start a new one in Mandurah. Read the rest of this post »

The One Reason to Eat Healthily (and It’s Nothing to do With Your Weight!)

The One Reason to Eat Healthily (and It’s Nothing to do With Your Weight!)I wrote an update on my facebook page the other day that gathered a bit of feedback. I was really just musing on my thoughts, but those thoughts seem to have struck a bit of a cord with some people. So I thought, let’s delve a little deeper into it, shall we?

Here’s what I wrote:

I’ve been thinking about WHY people choose to become healthier, or at least, begin to eat better.
Usually it’s about aesthetics – how you look.

(Self) Love Is All You Need

(Self) Love Is All You NeedThere’s a definite theme happening right now. With my clients, with myself, I’m seeing it everywhere! We’re all failing miserably at prioritising something extremely important – self-love.

I was chatting to a (gorgeous) client of mine yesterday and she was talking about work, doing the long hours, running around after other people and having trouble sleeping at night. So I said to her, “Well, when’s the last time you stopped and allowed yourself some relaxation time?”. And the response was a bit of an embarrassed, “Never…..”. Read the rest of this post »

It’s My Soberversary – Insights One Year off the Booze

I honestly can’t believe that it’s been one year. A whole year! When I look back on my booze-filled past, it really is nothing short of a miracle that I have reached the stage that I’m at. Not that I was an alcoholic, but I definitely used it as a crutch.

Boyfriend broke up with me? Let’s get drunk. Had a crappy day at work? Let’s get drunk. Something to celebrate? Let’s get drunk. It’s the weekend! Let’s get drunk. Read the rest of this post »

5 Tips to Make You Stress Less and Relax More

5 Tips to Make You Stress Less and Relax MoreI think all of us have to deal with stress at some stage. Whether it’s from your job, or your kids, or having too much stuff to do, it’s pretty much a normal part of our lives now. Which sucks, to be perfectly honest! Because unfortunately, stress is not your friend (well, unless you’re actually in a life-or-death situation, but that’s not what we’re talking about here). It doesn’t help you get things done, it doesn’t help you enjoy what you’re doing, and even once that thing that was stressing you out is over – it doesn’t help you celebrate! How To Create a Morning Routine (and Why It’s Important)

How To Create a Morning Routine (and Why It’s Important)I freely admit, I never used to care about my morning routine. There was no such thing as a morning routine! It was me, rolling out of bed, showering, and rolling out the door. Sometimes there was coffee involved, and sometimes there were cigarettes involved. Sometimes I was so hungover I can’t even remember what was involved! It’s scary really, looking back on my life and where my priorities once lay. But these days, well it’s an understatement to say that my life, and my mornings, are very different. Read the rest of this post »

Why I Treat My Skin With Love

Did you Why I Treat My Skin With Loveknow that your skin is the biggest organ of your body? We don’t often think about our skin being an organ, but it absolutely is – and a beautiful one at that! I love my skin, but not for the reasons you’re probably thinking.

It’s not perfect and it’s not flawless, far from it really. I had pimples from the time I was 12 (and still get one or two now!). I have a chicken pox scar on my forehead, wrinkles around my eyes and at times it can be crazy oily. Read the rest of this post »

What I Learned From Doing Nothing

Koh Samui ViewI’m the first to admit, when it comes to my business as a health coach, I find it hard to switch off. My poor hubby and the countless nights he’s had to cook dinner, do the dishes, and compete with my laptop for my attention! I’m lucky he’s a patient kind of guy or I’d be in real trouble. But it’s not that I’m a workaholic (or at least, I don’t think I am), it’s just that I love what I do. Read the rest of this post »

I Quit Drinking – 100 Days Later

20130804_172615You may remember earlier this year I wrote a blog about my decision to quit drinking. This was back at the very start of May, just before my 34th birthday, and it was a big deal for me. And when I say big, I mean, massive. I’ve spent my whole life it seems loving a glass of wine, enjoying a night drinking with friends, and bonding with people over a big booze session. Being the big introvert that I am, alcohol helped get me out of my shell as a teenager. Read the rest of this post »

What Are You In It For?

RunningMovement. Action. Exercise. Whatever you want to call it, it all boils down to the same thing, and that’s the need to move that sexy bod of yours! And as I was moving my bod along a steady 12km track yesterday (which my quads have seriously not forgiven me for yet) I was kinda thinking about what possesses people to do crazy challenges like that. Or at least, what possesses me to do crazy challenges like that (I was thinking this around the 7 or 8km mark when motivation was starting to wain and I was questioning my motives a little.
